The following local organizations provide programs and services for individuals seeking employment:

Conestoga Career Centre helps with Second Career and Ontario Skills Development Funding Information, Career Advising, Academic Advisement, Internationally Trained Immigrant Advisement, Labour Market Information, Program Information and Registration, and Preparatory Studies.

Focus for Ethnic Women helps visible minority and immigrant women with career counselling, skills training, job search assistance, English language skills, interview preparation, resume and cover letters, and computer training.

Francophone Employment Resource Centre (AGFO) – helps French speaking newcomers with one-one counseling, labour market and job research information.

KW Multicultural Centre  provides assistance to newcomers in Canada with job search, interpretation and translation services, settlement and documentation needs, and counselling.

Lutherwood Employment Services helps newcomers and others in the community people to find work or start businesses in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph and surrounding communities.

Region of Waterloo – Employment Services helps people looking for a job with career planning and job search assistance through Employment Options group programs.  Three Employment Resource Areas offer computers, internet access, job search resources and staff to help you in your job search.

Waterloo Region Immigrant Employment Network (WRIEN) works with other community organizations and businesses to offer networking sessions, mentorship and internship opportunities, and other supports.

The Working Centre helps newcomers and others in the community with connecting with employers, licensing and credentialing issues, links to Bridge Training Programs and loan programs, exploring schooling options, English language enhancement, access to computers, mentorship and assistance in finding a job.

Working for Work helps New Canadians that have been living in Canada for 5 years or less (Employment Assistance Program) and people on social assistance (Ontario Works).

YMCA – Cross Cultural and Immigrant Services – in addition to general settlement support, the New Canadians Career Quest provides employment support to newcomers.  The Mentorship Programconnects internationally trained newcomers with a volunteer mentor who is a Canadian professional in their field. The YMCA Cross Cultural and Immigrant Services office in Cambridge also provides settlement, employment and other services.
